Green House Seeds in Thailand

Green House Seed Company has been actively expanding its presence in Thailand since 2023, following the legalization of medical cannabis in the country.

Most important goals.

The company’s primary focus is on the cultivation and export of medical cannabis through its subsidiary, Green House Medical (in partnership with Green House Energrow, founded in 2023). It is one of the largest licensed cannabis companies in the world, compliant with local regulations (GACP certification for the EU and Thailand).

The business combines cultivation with retail sales through dispensaries, but faces challenges due to recent legislative changes. The partial ban on recreational use in 2025 negatively impacted the market, causing a loss of approximately $1 billion. Below are key details based on available data as of October 2025.

Greenhouse complex.

The company’s main greenhouse complex is located in the Phathum Thani district, northern Bangkok. It combines open fields, greenhouses with polycarbonate structures, insect screens, and ventilation, and warehouses. The grow zone contains 20-25 greenhouses with Agrowtek GCX Plus monitoring systems for climate control, irrigation, and HPS lighting. This allows for year-round production.

As for the growing facilities themselves, they cultivate medical cannabis with an emphasis on landrace phenotypes. The genetics are adapted to Thailand’s tropical climate, using soil and coco substrates. Specific strains are not publicly announced, but the emphasis is on high-quality varieties for export and domestic consumption.

Coffeeshop in Bankkok.

Harvests are sold in Thailand in Bangkok at 46/202 Nuanchan Road, Bueng Kum. This is «Bangkok X Amsterdam»—Green House’s first official location in Asia, opening in 2023-2024. The construction of several additional dispensaries across the country is planned, with completion scheduled for 2025. Naturally, they are focused on medical cannabis.

Bangkok X Amsterdam Coffeeshop: A Comprehensive Guide.

**Bangkok X Amsterdam** is a cannabis café and dispensary blending the laid-back vibe of Amsterdam’s iconic coffeeshops with the warm hospitality of Thailand.  This venue markets itself as a cultural bridge between Bangkok and Amsterdam. Catering to both tourists and locals, it offers not just premium cannabis but also food, drinks, and a chill atmosphere filled with vibrant visitors and friendly staff.

Background and Location.

Launched in early 2022, shortly after Thailand decriminalized cannabis, Bangkok X Amsterdam is situated at 46/202 Nuanchan Rd., Buengkum. Spanning roughly 200 square meters, the venue operates across two floors: the ground level houses a dispensary and bakery, while the fifth floor features a lounge with a bar, an additional dispensary, and a rooftop smoking terrace. The design fuses Scandinavian minimalism with retro flair—think rich wood, sleek lines, kitschy touches, and a glass elevator. The interior, including vintage furniture and decor, doubles as an art gallery with everything up for sale. The vibe is relaxed, security is discreet, and the space embodies the Thai concept of *sanook* (fun and ease).

Product Range and Offerings

Primarily a cannabis dispensary, Bangkok X Amsterdam specializes in buds, stocking over 90 strains. Initially focused on imported varieties, it now highlights potent, locally grown Thai strains. Popular picks include Super Lemon Haze, Pablo Lemon, Jack Herer, Amnesia Haze, Orange Bud, Thai Green Crack, Cartel Bruce, Blue Dream, CBN Critical, Jungle Cake, Pineapple Express, Thai Stick, OG Kush, Sour Diesel, and Skywalker. Prices range from 99 baht (~3 USD) per gram for budget options to 300–700+ baht for premium selections. The shop also sells pre-rolled joints, rolling papers, filters, grinders, and rolling trays from top brands like Cookies, Mary Jane’s, RAW, and Trip. Customers can touch and smell the buds before buying.

Food and Drink Menu

The menu blends cannabis-infused offerings with everyday fare at wallet-friendly prices. Food options include steaks, grilled meats, chicken, burgers, sandwiches, and more. Drinks range from various beers (like San Miguel Light) to spirits, cannabis-infused teas, and fruit extracts. The in-house bakery serves cannabis-infused brownies and other sweets, both potent and non-infused. Cannabis delivery is available until 5 AM via Instagram (@amsterdamcafebangkok11), with a 10% discount using the code AMSTERDAM10.

Staff and Team

The venue employs around 14 staff members, including bartenders and budtenders (cannabis consultants). Budtenders, such as 26-year-old Tae Sitthichai and 22-year-old Lem, are trained by the owner and are known for their expertise and approachable demeanor. They guide customers based on mood and budget without being pushy. The bar is staffed by friendly, smiling women who enhance the welcoming vibe.

Visitors and Foot Traffic

The café buzzes with energy, drawing a diverse international crowd. While exact visitor numbers aren’t available, its popularity is evident. Open from 8 AM to 4–5 AM (closed only 4–8 AM), it’s a hotspot for late-night hangouts. It holds a strong 4.7/5 rating on Google, with patrons raving about the rooftop and ambiance.

Notable Visitors

Specific celebrity names aren’t documented in available sources. However, given its ties to Green House Seeds’ Amsterdam coffeeshops—frequented by stars like Rihanna and Snoop Dogg—and its appeal to tourists, it’s likely a magnet for prominent figures in the cannabis scene.

Green House Seeds Team

The main cultivation facility employs about a hundred people. Most are local specialists, new to cannabis at the start, who have gained experience in identifying plant problems and managing crops over a couple of years of operation. The staff includes agronomists, technicians, and managers. Exact figures are not disclosed, but the total headcount for Thailand is 100-150 people, including coffee shop staff.

The financials.

The financials of Green House Seeds Company’s Thai branch are not publicly available, but the company’s total annual revenue is expected to be approximately $3 million in 2025. It is estimated that the Thai business generates approximately 20% of this figure. The cannabis market in Thailand was worth 28 billion Thai baht (~$800 million) in 2024, projected to double by the end of 2025. However, the recriminalization of recreational use in June 2025 has created uncertainty, impacting retail.
